Taylor was particularly inspired by Francesca Abbate's poem Fata Morgana. The strong visuals spoke to her through Not Baby's navigation of femininity and the world around her. The moment when her heel got caught in the clay inspired this collage.

Taylor Yocom
Taylor Yocom (b. 1992) is a Des Moines based artist and received her BFA in Photography from the University of Iowa in 2015. Her art practice uses mixed media and photography to explore how the everyday objects and materials that surround us speak to personal and societal relationships and power dynamics.
